I was born in Mexico City. My father was a banker and different members of the family ran the bank for almost eighty years. The reason I mention this is because that circumstance had a very strong influence in my childhood. My father was a simple person with a simple life.
He was a good influence on his children: two brothers, one sister and myself. He influenced each of us in different ways. My oldest brother is a mechanical engineer, he wound up working for westinghouse as a salesman. My sister has a traditional Mexican family life. My younger brother worked in the bank and ended up being a financing adviser.
My father was a hard worker, he inherited me his love for Mexico: he had a particular vision of how he wanted Mexico to develop. He loved the city as well as the countryside. When I was a kid he used to drive us all around the country. Visiting the old ranches and villages, I started to get acquainted with the architecture of the towns and the “Haciendas” of Mexico.
