On 6 October, Charles -Edouard Jeanneret, not yet known as Le Corbusier, was born in La Chaux-de-Fonds in the Swiss canton of Neuchatel, a few kilometers from the French border.
In his drawings and watercolors, Charles-Edouard Jeanneret returned constantly to the scenery of his childhood. The important place he gave in his work to the natural world, throughout his life, certainly originated in his childhood experience of the Jura.
