After the publication of the seventy-three carnets covering the period 1914-64 in 1981 and six carnets of the Voyage d’Orient (1910-11) in 1987, the Fondation Le Corbusier is very pleased to present the third and last of Le Corbusier’s famous series of travel sketchbooks to the scientific community.
When the six carnets of Voyage d’Orient were acquired, the foundation discussed whether their immediate publication would be timely.
The first, which had actually been labeled “Carnet V” in Charles-Edouard Jeanneret’s own handwriting began where a preceding sketchbook had left off and covered Jeanneret’s visit to the school of Hamburg.
